Outreach Programme

The aim of Outreach Programme is to identify & reach out to children with special needs, as well as the key stakeholders involved in thier care and development. The programme seeks to provide these children with necessary support services and interventions.

The Outreach Programme constitutes the off-campus activities, to cover both Dehradun and the other districts of Uttarakhand. The programme include awareness sessions, early intervention centre, itinerant teachers to government primary schools and also district support centres.

Currently this programme covers four blocks of Dehradun district through Early Intervention Centres and five District Support Centres in following districts:-

  1. Uttarkashi - Block Naugaon
  2. Rudraprayag - Block Jakholi
  3. Pauri Garhwal - Block Duggada
  4. Tehri Garhwal - Block Gaja
  5. Chamoli - Block Joshimath

Local resource persons are hired and trained. Each of them reaches out to about 10 - 12 children. All the training equipment, teaching learning material, books, adapted aids and appliances are provided to each centre by Raphael. Some children are able to attend a 'Centre' and others receive programmes in their home. Our resource persons visit the children on a fixed schedule.

Through this programme the outreach teams have reached more than 50,000 stakeholders and identified 6000 children with special needs in 12 districts of Uttarakhand.
